About Us
Our Story
In 2010, Barb met her first Otterhound at Westminster Kennel Club in NYC. From then, it was love at first sight. Her first Otterhound, Pumpkin (left), was not only a wonderful pet, but also became an accomplished show dog. From there, Barb's interest in purebred dogs grew and she began working for all breed dog handlers prior to attending veterinary school in Edinburgh, Scotland. Cammy, Pumpkin's daughter also came to the UK. Barb had the opportunity to learn from the top British Otterhound kennels.
Barb accepted the 2025 AKC Canine Health Foundation Residency in Theriogenology at the Virginia Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine where she will study to become a specialist in canine reproduction.
Our Mission
Our goal is to produce happy and healthy Otterhounds to the breed standard. This unique breed is not for everyone, but they enrich our lives every day.
Why an Otterhound?
Otterhounds are an old British breed, dating back to the 1100s. Related to French Griffons and English Hounds, the true ancestry of the Otterhound has been lost to time. Today, they are among the rarest breeds in the world, with only around 800 left.
If you have not yet met an Otterhound and are interested in the breed, please reach out. We prefer all prospective buyers and their families to have met an Otterhound prior to joining our waitlist. Don't worry though - the Otterhound community reaches all across the nation, we can help!
